What types of counseling do you offer?
I provide individual therapy for adults, adolescents, and children ages 10 and up, both in person and virtually. As an integrative, holistic therapist, I draw from a range of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy, to best meet your needs.

How do I know if counseling is right for me?
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just need an unbiased perspective, counseling can offer support and clarity. We’ll work together to help you feel heard and explore a path forward that feels right for you.

What challenges can you help me with?
I can support you with a range of challenges, such as managing anxiety, improving relationships, workplace frustrations, setting boundaries, school concerns, navigating major life changes, dealing with overwhelm, and more. Whatever is weighing on you, we’ll address it together.

How do virtual sessions work?
Virtual sessions are straightforward. You’ll receive a secure link to connect as long as you’re in Texas. Many clients find virtual therapy just as effective as in-person sessions.

What should I expect in my first session?
The first session is about getting to know each other. I’ll explain confidentiality, review a few paperwork points, and ask questions to understand your goals and concerns as we plan our work together.

How long are sessions, and how often should I attend?
Sessions are 50 minutes, and we can decide on a frequency that feels right for you, typically weekly or biweekly, depending on your needs.

How confidential are my sessions?
Our conversations are private and protected, with a few legal exceptions I’ll explain in our first session. I maintain a do-not-disturb sign and a sound machine outside my office to ensure added privacy.

What if I miss a session? What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to reschedule, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise, a missed session fee applies.

Do you offer a free consultation?
You can schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation through my website. The consultation is a chance to ask questions and see if we’re a good fit.

What are the benefits of not using insurance for therapy?
Not using insurance allows us to tailor therapy without restrictions on session length or frequency. I go into more detail in my blog post, Benefits of Insurance-Free Therapy. If desired, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt with information like session dates, service type, and a diagnosis code. You can submit it to your insurance for potential reimbursement for out-of-network sessions. Superbill receipts are usually sent to you through your portal each month.

What is your therapeutic approach or style?
My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I draw from various therapeutic methods—including CBT, Solution-Focused, and Client-Centered Therapy—to help you feel understood and empowered.

Can I bring my child or partner to sessions if needed?
I offer individual counseling only, but we can discuss family dynamics that may impact your well-being.

If my child is in therapy, what information can be shared with me?
While session details stay private to build trust, I’ll share general updates, tools, and tips to help support your child’s progress at home. Parental involvement is essential for reinforcing new skills beyond the counseling setting.

How soon can I expect results from therapy?
Therapy is a gradual process, and progress depends on your commitment and session frequency. We’ll set meaningful goals so you can notice and celebrate progress along the way.
